August 17, 1985: Indians (44-76) at Tigers (68-49)

Kirk Gibson hit a homer and had 2 RBI at TIGER STADIUM as the Detroit Tigers beat the dreadful Cleveland Indians 2 to 1.

Detroit brought 2 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning. The early run support proved sufficient for Walt Terrell(13-7) and Detroit. The pitchers took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.

Terrell got help from Willie Hernandez who earned his 29th save. Neal Heaton(9-13) was charged with the loss. He gave up 2 runs and 5 hits in 7 innings.
