Teufel really 'lit it up' for Minnesota. He lined a one-base hit in the 4th inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 4th inning and tripled plating two runs in the 8th inning. Seattle tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Mike Smithson(9-13) went 7 innings allowing 7 runs for the win. Jim Beattie(4-11) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Teufel said. 'We played well together as a team.'.
