August 18, 1985: Rangers (55-62) at Orioles (60-57)

Rick Dempsey had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Baltimore Orioles bested the Texas Rangers 12 to 3 at MEMORIAL STADIUM. 

Dempsey provided much of the offense. He delivered a base-hit in the 2nd inning, stroked a single in the 5th inning, ripped a one-base hit in the 6th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 8th inning. Baltimore kept the scorekeepers busy in the 5th inning with 4 runs on 5 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5 hits. Overall Baltimore out-hit Texas 20 to 8. 

Mike Flanagan(8-1) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Flanagan got help from Don Aase who was credited with his 20th save. Mike Mason(12-10) ended up with the loss. Baltimore scored big getting 5 runs off him in 4 innings.
