August 19, 1985: A's (48-71) at Angels (54-64)

First baseman Rod Carew had 2 base hits as the California Angels came back to win one over Oakland Athletics, 6 to 5.

California won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 2 hits. Bob Boone got things going when he doubled. After an out was recorded, Carew stepped in and he reached on an error resulting in a run. After another out, Reggie Jackson then lashed a single giving California the win much to the delight of the home town crowd. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.

Pat Clements(2-1) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Jay Howell(1-7) absorbed the loss in relief. 'Wow, that was fun!', Clements said following the game. 'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you just why you got into this business to begin with!'
