Brett had a huge day at the plate. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the
1st inning, cracked a solo homerun in the 3rd inning and lofted a three-run
'bomb' in the 4th inning. Offensively, Brett and Steve Balboni were a juggernaut.
They combined for 5 home runs and 11 RBI. Balboni finished a triple shy of the cycle
For Jackson(9-9) it was his 2nd shutout this year.
Floyd Bannister(12-11) took
the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 2 and 2/3 innings.
