August 22, 1985: Reds (65-56) at Pirates (54-66)

In a close game it was the Pittsburgh Pirates 5, the Cincinnati Reds 3 at Forbes Field. 

Pittsburgh took the lead for keeps in the 3rd inning scoring 2 runners on 1 hit. The highlight belonged to Steve Kemp who thrilled the crowd when he popped a two-run clout over the fence. Cincinnati tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. 

The victory was credited to Rick Reuschel(16-6) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. Cecilio Guante earned his 25th save. Mario Soto(17-10) took the loss.
