August 24, 1985: Astros (57-65) at Pirates (55-67)

In a thrilling finish the Pittsburgh Pirates pulled off the win over the Houston Astros by a score of 3 to 2 at Forbes Field. 

The game was won by Pittsburgh when they scored a run in the 9th inning. After two were out Marvell Wynne tripled. Jim Morrison stepped up next and he lined a one-base hit resulting in an exciting win for Pittsburgh and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Pittsburgh won despite being out-hit by Houston 10 hits to 7. Cecilio Guante(2-3) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Mike Scott(6-14) took the loss. 

This win by Pittsburgh continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season, they are 55-67. With the loss, Houston has a record of 3-7 lately, 57-65 overall.
