August 24, 1985: Cardinals (75-48) at Braves (38-84)

Ken Dayley came through with a solid 3 innings as the sizzling St. Louis Cardinals bested the Atlanta Braves 6 to 5 at FULTON CTY STADIUM.

Joaquin Andujar(12-11) got the win despite looking shaky at times. He gave up 8 hits and no walks in 5 innings. St. Louis managed 10 hits in their victory.

Andujar got help from Jeff Lahti who earned his 21st save. Rick Camp(4-9) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 6 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.

No one has been able to stop St. Louis lately as they lengthened their winning streak to 8 games. 'It seems we can't lose these days', Whitey Herzog volunteered after the game. Then after a moment to reflect he lamented, 'Oh great! Now I've gone and jinxed us!'
