August 27, 1985: Red Sox (77-48) at Indians (48-81)

The dreadful Cleveland Indians pitching coach might be looking for a new job soon. His team allowed 10 runs while Al Nipper(9-10), with relief help from Steve Crawford, surrendered 2 runs to Cleveland in a laugher.

Nipper delivered a fine performance for Boston. He was reached for 5 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings reducing his ERA from 5.11 to 4.90. Boston rapped out 8 hits for the night.

Curt Wardle(3-11) was tagged with the loss. His biggest problem was control as he allowed 6 walks in 2 innings.
