August 27, 1985: Pirates (56-69) at Braves (39-86)

R.J. Reynolds had 4 hits at FULTON CTY STADIUM as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the lifeless Atlanta Braves by the count of 2 to 1. 

Pittsburgh brought 2 runs across the plate in the 6th inning when they came up with 3 base hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. Pittsburgh had 12 hits overall, while Atlanta had 5. 

Rick Reuschel(17-6) got the win allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Reuschel got help from Cecilio Guante who earned his 26th save. Len Barker(5-15) was the loser. 

The Pittsburgh ballclub's record now stands at 56-69. Eddie Haas was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 2-8 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'
