August 27, 1985: Rangers (59-66) at White Sox (61-62)

In a close game the Texas Rangers put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning and got by the Chicago White Sox by the score of 7 to 5. 

Chris Welsh(3-2) contributed a pedestrian performance to earn the win. He went 6 innings allowing 10 hits and 1 walk. Chicago tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. 

Dave Schmidt earned his 2nd save. Floyd Bannister(12-12) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 innings of work. 

'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Welsh said.
