August 28, 1985: Red Sox (78-48) at Indians (48-82)

The Boston Red Sox had an easy time of it at MUNICIPAL STADIUM defeating the Cleveland Indians by a score of 8 to 2.

Jim Rice was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He smacked a single in the 1st inning, stroked a one-base hit in the 3rd inning and caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun in the 8th inning. Boston out-hit Cleveland for the game, 10 hits to 5.

The victory went to Mike Trujillo(5-0) who went 4 innings, allowing no runs. Tim Lollar was credited with his 2nd save. Roy Smith(1-4) took the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 6 and 2/3 innings.
