August 30, 1985: White Sox (63-63) at Blue Jays (80-49)

Catcher Ernie Whitt hit one over the fence as the Toronto Blue Jays topped the Chicago White Sox by a score of 8 to 7 at EXHIBITION STADIUM. 

Toronto came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning with 3 runs on 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Whitt started the attack as he tripled. Damaso Garcia next to the plate and he lined a one-base hit plating a run. Tony Fernandez then laced a base-hit. Fernandez took second on the throw. George Bell followed next and he delivered a single which was good for two more runs. Chicago threatened in the 9th but Toronto was able to put down the rally. 

Jim Acker(2-2) allowed 1 run in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Tom Henke was credited with his 29th save. Dan Spillner(5-4) took the loss in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 3 runs in 2 innings.
