August 30, 1985: Pirates (56-72) at Reds (69-60)

The Cincinnati Reds bested the Pittsburgh Pirates by a 5 to 2 score at Crosley Field.

Pittsburgh found themselves trailing quickly as the Cincinnati bats came through in the first inning when they came up with 3 runs on 3 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Cincinnati had a total of 7 hits for the game.

Ron Robinson(8-6) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Robinson got help from John Franco who was credited with his 26th save. Lee Tunnell(2-12) suffered the loss. He surrendered 5 runs and 6 hits in 5 innings.
