August 31, 1985: Expos (60-69) at Padres (69-61)

Andy Hawkins had an impressive outing as the San Diego Padres outscored the Montreal Expos 3 to 2. 

Montreal was unable to recover after San Diego went ahead in the bottom of the 4th inning plating an isolated run. Montreal had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

The winning pitcher was Hawkins(12-10) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Goose Gossage gained credit for his 27th save. Bill Gullickson(10-14) was hit with the loss.
