August 31, 1985: Royals (73-55) at Rangers (60-68)

At ARLINGTON STADIUM, the Texas faithful were treated to an intriguing pitcher's duel. Dickie Noles(7-7) finally bested his Kansas City counterpart, Bud Black(14-9), by the score of 2 to 1. 

Noles looked very much in control throughout the night. He allowed just 6 hits and no walks in 8 innings. Greg Harris, after tossing a perfect ninth, was credited with his 28th save. 

Black suffered the loss. He surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. The Texas ballclub's record now stands at 60-68. With the loss Kansas City now has a record of 73-55.
