The Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves locked up in an exciting one-run game at WRIGLEY FIELD. The final score was the Chicago Cubs 3, the Atlanta Braves 2 in 11 innings. 

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Finally, Chicago prevailed in the 11th inning. Warren Brusstar ripped a single. Bob Dernier came to the plate and slapped a one-base hit. Ryne Sandberg then laced a base-hit resulting in an exciting win for Chicago and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Both teams ended up with 10 hits on the afternoon. 

Brusstar(2-2) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Terry Forster(0-4) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning and surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk.
