The Baltimore Orioles easily topped the Seattle Mariners; the final score was 9 to 4. 

Seattle was unable to climb back into it after Baltimore went ahead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Mike Young who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he cracked a two-run shot. Baltimore totaled 12 hits on the afternoon. 

Mike Boddicker(4-11) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Tippy Martinez earned the save, his 3rd. Mike Moore(19-9) was given the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings.
