The victory was credited to Stieb(24-6) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs. The right-handed Stieb lost a no-hitter when Carlton Fisk singled with one out in the 7th inning. Gene Nelson(12-14) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around by Toronto, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
