September 3, 1985: Angels (56-76) at Tigers (78-54)

In a close game the Detroit Tigers offense put up 6 runs on the scoreboard in the 1st inning and got by the California Angels by the score of 11 to 9.

The game started off with Detroit taking the lead in the first when they scored 6 runs on 5 hits. The big moment was provided by Larry Herndon who brought the crowd to their feet when he tripled bringing in two baserunners. Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for California to come away with the victory.

Jack Morris(16-8) got the win allowing 6 runs in 5 innings. Kirk McCaskill(13-14) was the loser.
