September 3, 1985: Red Sox (80-52) at Rangers (62-69)

The Texas Rangers had an easy time of it at ARLINGTON STADIUM defeating the Boston Red Sox by a score of 7 to 2.

Texas wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning plating 3 runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Toby Harrah was the sparkplug when he drew a walk. After another out, Gary Ward stepped up to the plate and he smacked a single. Don Slaught then lost the ball over the fence for three runs. That was all the runs Mike Mason(13-11) needed. Despite losing, Boston out-hit Texas 10 to 7.

Oil Can Boyd(14-8) was given the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
