September 6, 1985: Mariners (68-67) at Tigers (80-54)

At TIGER STADIUM, the Detroit faithful were treated to an intriguing pitcher's duel. Walt Terrell(16-7) finally bested his Seattle counterpart, Mike Moore(19-10), by the score of 3 to 1. 

Seattle never recovered after Detroit took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring one runner using 2 hits. Detroit rapped out 8 hits for the night. 

Willie Hernandez preserved the game for Terrell, recording his his 31st save. Moore was charged with the loss. He pitched 7 innings allowing 8 hits and 1 walk.
