The Atlanta Braves easily topped the St. Louis Cardinals; the final score was 9 to 4. 

Bob Horner had a big day with his bat. He delivered a base-hit in the 2nd inning, lined a one-base hit in the 4th inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 5th inning. St. Louis was out-hit by Atlanta, 13 hits to 8. 

Steve Bedrosian(5-18) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 4 runs. Bob Forsch(13-8) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 9 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
