September 6, 1985: White Sox (65-68) at Rangers (64-69)

Gary Ward had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Texas Rangers defeated the Chicago White Sox in 10 innings 11 to 9 at ARLINGTON STADIUM. 

The score was knotted at 9 after nine innings. Texas came out the victor in the 10th inning. Pete O'Brien led off and started the rally when he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Ward came up and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run resulting in an exciting win for Texas and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Both teams finished the game with 13 hits. 

The victory went to Dickie Noles(9-7) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs. Gene Nelson(12-15) was the losing pitcher in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 1 hit in 1/3 of an inning.
