September 8, 1985: Expos (65-71) at Giants (58-77)

David Palmer delivered 9 solid innings as the Montreal Expos defeated the San Francisco Giants in 10 innings by a score of 2 to 1 at CANDLESTICK PARK. 

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. Montreal won the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Tim Wallach doubled. After an out was recorded, Mike Fitzgerald came to the plate and delivered a single scoring the run. Montreal had just 6 hits for the afternoon. 

The winning pitcher was Palmer(7-13) who allowed 1 run in 9 innings. Jeff Reardon preserved the game for Palmer, recording his his 22nd save. Scott Garrelts(8-5) suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no walks in 2 innings.
