September 10, 1985: Tigers (82-56) at Blue Jays (86-53)

The dominant Toronto Blue Jays plated 4 runs in the 7th inning and nipped the Detroit Tigers 6 to 5 at EXHIBITION STADIUM in a hard fought contest.

Jim Acker(3-2) came on to close the door tight in relief. He gave up just 1 hit and no walks in 2 innings. Detroit made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Acker got relief help from Tom Henke who gained credit for his 31st save. The loss was charged to Aurelio Lopez(0-4) in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit in 2 innings.
