September 11, 1985: Expos (66-72) at Phillies (60-78)

13,859 fans watched an exciting game at Shibe Park. The Philadelphia Phillies topped the Montreal Expos by the slimmest of margins, 7 to 6. 

Philadelphia took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 7th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. Mike Schmidt led off the inning for Philadelphia when he reached on an error. Glenn Wilson was next and he stroked a single. Wilson took second on the throw. Ozzie Virgil got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. After another out, Luis Aguayo came to the plate and laced a base-knock scoring two baserunners. Both teams ended up with 11 hits on the night. 

Dave Rucker(3-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no runs. Kent Tekulve earned his 27th save. Bryn Smith(9-15) was hit with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.
