September 11, 1985: Rangers (67-71) at A's (59-81)

Don Sutton went 9 strong innings as the Oakland Athletics defeated the Texas Rangers by a score of 7 to 0 at OAKLAND COLISEUM. 

The Oakland fans enjoyed the offense provided by Dave Kingman. He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st inning, lined a base-hit which brought home a run in the 5th inning and delivered a single scoring a run in the 7th inning. Oakland managed 12 hits in their victory. 

It was the 3rd shutout of the year for Sutton(9-16). The loss was charged to Dickie Noles(9-8). He gave up 5 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings of work.
