September 9, 1985: Twins (58-80) at White Sox (65-71)

Frank Viola allowed Ray Miller to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Minnesota Twins outscored the Chicago White Sox 3 to 1.

Minnesota scored 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning. The early run support proved sufficient for Viola(12-17) and Minnesota. That was all the run support Viola required. Chicago had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Gene Nelson(12-16) absorbed the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 5 hits in 7 innings.
