September 12, 1985: Giants (61-78) at Astros (67-72)

34,691 fans watched an exciting game at Colt Stadium. The San Francisco Giants topped the Houston Astros by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4. 

San Francisco jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits. Houston threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. 

Dave Lapoint(7-16) went 7 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Lapoint got help from Scott Garrelts who was credited with his 4th save. Nolan Ryan(13-16) absorbed the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
