September 20, 1985: Braves (44-103) at Padres (78-69)

In a good matchup it was the San Diego Padres 6, the hapless Atlanta Braves 4 at JACK MURPHY STADIUM. 

San Diego came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 3 hits. Mario Ramirez got things going when he laced a base-knock. Steve Garvey came next and he lined a base-hit. Garvey took second on the throw. After an out was recorded, Carmelo Martinez then lined a single knocking in a run. After another out, Jeff Dedmon then unleashed a wild pitch scoring the final run of the inning. San Diego banged out 9 hits on the night. 

The victory was credited to Roy Lee Jackson(4-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Goose Gossage was credited with his 31st save. Dedmon(4-4) took the loss in relief.
