Jack Morris pitched a complete game and Alan Trammell had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Detroit Tigers topped the New York Yankees by a score of 10 to 5 at YANKEE STADIUM. 

New York fell behind quickly as the Detroit offense came through in the first inning when they came up with 2 runs on 2 hits. Detroit kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning which saw them score 3 runs on 4 hits and the 7th inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 5 hits. Detroit had a total of 20 hits for the game. 

Morris(19-9) finished the game allowing 5 runs in the victory. Dennis Rasmussen(8-6) suffered the loss. He allowed Detroit 7 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
