September 25, 1985: Braves (45-106) at Reds (81-70)

Dave Parker hit a homer and had 2 RBI at Crosley Field where the Cincinnati Reds beat the awful Atlanta Braves 6 to 3. 

Cincinnati took the lead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Nick Esasky led off and got things going when he delivered a one-base hit. Parker came to the plate and smashed a two-run homer. Atlanta was out-hit by Cincinnati, 12 hits to 9. 

Tom Browning(15-15) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. John Franco earned the save, his 30th. Joe Johnson(0-6) suffered the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 6 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings. 

The Cincinnati ballclub's record now stands at 81-70. With the loss Atlanta now has a record of 45-106, worst in the division.
