Jesse Barfield had 4 hits and 4 RBI at EXHIBITION STADIUM as the Toronto Blue Jays, running on all cylinders, ripped the Boston Red Sox by a large 13 to 1 margin.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Barfield. Toronto had 17 hits overall, while Boston had 4.

The win was credited to Jimmy Key(21-9) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run. Oil Can Boyd(15-11) absorbed the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 3 innings of work.
