September 26, 1985: Royals (83-68) at Mariners (74-49)

In a close game it was the Kansas City Royals 8, the Seattle Mariners 6 at The Kingdome. 

Kansas City had 4 runs cross the plate in the top of the 3rd inning when they had 3 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Jorge Orta who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he ripped a base-knock which was good for two runs. Seattle threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. 

The victory went to Charlie Leibrandt(17-9) who went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs. Matt Young(17-13) took the loss. He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 8 hits and 4 walks.
