Cowley(12-11) looked very much in control throughout the night. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings. Detroit had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The loss was charged to Dan Petry(15-12). He gave up only 4 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.
