October 2, 1985: Blue Jays (99-59) at Tigers (94-64)

Darrell Evans slammed 2 homeruns at TIGER STADIUM as the Detroit Tigers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3 to 2. 

Detroit took the lead for good in the 2nd inning plating one baserunner utilizing 2 base hits. Lance Parrish tripled. Evans next to the plate and he drew a walk. Larry Herndon then stroked a one-base hit scoring the run. Toronto had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

Dan Petry(16-12) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Willie Hernandez recorded the save, his 36th. Jim Clancy(10-16) took the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 7 hits in 7 innings.
