October 2, 1985: Mets (101-57) at Cardinals (96-62)

Vince Coleman had 4 hits and scored 3 times at BUSCH STADIUM where the St. Louis Cardinals beat the New York Mets 7 to 4. 

St. Louis jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run using 2 hits. New York made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. 

Bob Forsch(14-8) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Forsch was helped out by Jeff Lahti who recorded his 26th save. The loss was charged to Ron Darling(17-15). He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 10 hits and 1 walk.
