Curt Wardle came through with a solid 9 innings and Brook Jacoby had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Cleveland Indians bested the struggling Seattle Mariners 6 to 2 at MUNICIPAL STADIUM. 

Cleveland set the tone of the game in the first inning when they came up with 2 runs on 3 hits. Cleveland managed 12 hits in their victory. 

Wardle(4-11) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. The losing pitcher was Matt Young(17-14). He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 6 runs in 5 innings.
