October 2, 1985: Red Sox (89-69) at Orioles (79-79)

Oil Can Boyd hurled a 3 hitter at MEMORIAL STADIUM where the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 4 to 2.

Baltimore was unable to claim the lead after Boston went ahead in the top of the 2nd inning scoring one runner. Boston had only 6 hits for the night.

The victory was credited to Boyd(16-11) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs. Scott McGregor(12-11) took the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
