September 28, 1985: Orioles (76-78) at Yankees (88-66)

The New York Yankees offense put up 5 runs on the scoreboard in the 5th inning and easily topped the Baltimore Orioles; the final score was 12 to 6. 

Ken Griffey enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He tripled which brought home a run in the 4th inning, tripled with all three runners coming home in the 5th inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 7th inning. New York out-hit Baltimore for the game, 13 hits to 6. 

The win went to Phil Niekro(14-12) who allowed 6 runs in 7 innings. Mike Boddicker(4-14) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 6 hits and 5 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
