Davis was unconscious out there. While Texas pitching was serving softballs up there for him to hit, the Texas fans were serving up some hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He doubled in the 4th inning, launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 5th inning, doubled in the 8th inning and delivered a single bringing home two baserunners in the 9th inning. Oakland ended up with 17 hits for the game while Texas had 10.
Chris Codiroli(9-17) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 and 1/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Jay Howell recorded his 24th save. Charlie Hough(14-14) was the loser.
