In a good matchup it was the Seattle Mariners 4, the Chicago White Sox 2 at COMISKEY PARK.

Langston was helped out by Roy Thomas who recorded his 15th save. Floyd Bannister(15-16) took the loss. He gave up 3 runs and 4 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings.
