October 4, 1985: Reds (85-75) at Dodgers (95-66)

Catcher Mike Scioscia slammed 2 homeruns as the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7 to 5 at DODGER STADIUM. 

It was a good day for Los Angeles thanks to Scioscia. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 5th inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 6th inning and stroked a base-hit in the 8th inning. Cincinnati was set down quietly in the 9th. 

Bobby Castillo(8-3) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Tom Niedenfuer preserved the game for Castillo, recording his his 26th save. Tom Hume(3-4) was the loser in relief. He pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 walk.
