Catcher Rick Dempsey had 2 base hits as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Oakland Athletics by the score of 3 to 1 at MEMORIAL STADIUM. 

Baltimore came up with 2 runs in the 2nd inning when they had 3 base hits. That was all Storm Davis(14-9) needed. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score. 

Don Aase preserved the game for Davis, recording his his 22nd save. Jose Rijo(14-7) took the loss. The Baltimore ballclub's record now stands at 67-64. Oakland has a record of 56-77 after the loss.
