Center fielder Rickey Henderson had 4 hits and 2 RBI at YANKEE STADIUM where the New York Yankees beat the Seattle Mariners 10 to 5. 

The New York fans enjoyed the offense provided by Henderson. He lined a one-base hit in the 1st inning, doubled plating a run in the 2nd inning, blasted a solo shot in the 6th inning and slapped a base-hit in the 8th inning. New York finished with 12 hits while Seattle ended up with 5. 

Phil Niekro(12-9) got the win allowing 5 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Rich Bordi earned the save, his 1st. Mark Langston(13-10) was the loser. He got hammered, allowing 7 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
