September 4, 1985: Angels (56-77) at Tigers (79-54)

In a close game the Detroit Tigers got by the California Angels in 10 innings by the score of 4 to 2. 

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Detroit pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Alan Trammell got things going when he slapped a base-hit. Kirk Gibson followed and he blasted a two-run home run making Detroit the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Detroit had a total of 8 hits for the game. 

Willie Hernandez(2-3) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Rafael Lugo(7-7) was tagged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits without retiring a batter.
