September 15, 1985: Royals (77-65) at A's (62-82) Game 2 (DH)

Catcher John Wathan had 2 base hits at OAKLAND COLISEUM as the Kansas City Royals beat the Oakland Athletics 6 to 5. 

Kansas City jumped out to the early lead in the first inning as they scored 2 runs on 3 base hits. Oakland had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

Bret Saberhagen(16-8) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Dan Quisenberry earned the save, his 30th. Steve McCatty(5-8) was charged with the loss. Kansas City knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 6 runs in 5 innings
