Ken Landreaux left the yard as the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres 5 to 3 at JACK MURPHY STADIUM.

Los Angeles tallied 3 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. The key offensive moment was provided by Steve Sax who silenced the stadium when he delivered a one-base hit which was good for two runs. Los Angeles had 13 hits overall, while San Diego had 7.

The win was credited to Rick Honeycutt(11-6) who went 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Honeycutt got relief help from Tom Niedenfuer who gained credit for his 22nd save. Eric Show(16-13) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around by Los Angeles, allowing 10 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.
