1985 NLCS Game 2: Dodgers (1-1) at Mets (1-1)

In a close game the New York Mets scored 4 runs in the 4th inning and got by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 11 innings by the score of 8 to 6. 

The score was tied at 6 after nine. Finally, New York pulled the game out in the 11th inning. Mookie Wilson started the inning off right when he slapped a one-base hit. Wally Backman got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Keith Hernandez was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Gary Carter was up next and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run resulting in a mighty exciting win for New York and the 46,023 home town fans in attendance. Both teams totaled 14 hits on the afternoon. 

The win went to Tom Gorman(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Tom Niedenfuer(0-1) was the loser in relief. Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 5 batters in 1 and 2/3 innings.
